XYZ Bank reminds you that your Reward Points (5,036) will expire today. Please visit to reedeem your new year gift: https://xyzbank.top/rewards

🚨 This is a scam. The message pretends to be from XYZ Bank about expiring reward points, but the sender ID is suspiciously numeric, and the link provided is not a legitimate bank domain. This is likely a phishing attempt to steal personal information. Do not click the link and delete the message immediately.

How It Works

1

You send in a message

Simply copy, take a screenshot, or forward the content you want to verify to our WhatsApp number.

2

Our Generative AI system performs research

Our AI system searches the web, referencing multiple sources and analysing the content (takes ~1 minute).

3

You receive a response

Get a quick, clear response with explanation and sources if you want to dive deeper.

4

Our volunteers review the response

In the rare cases (currently <2%) where the majority deem the response unacceptable, CheckMate sends out a correction. We're continually improving, but so far, we've never failed to identify a scam.

Frequently Asked Questions

We've built what is known as an AI agent. It uses OpenAI large language models, with access to 3 core "tools" that it can use to interact with the internet.

  1. Web search
  2. Webpage screenshot
  3. Malicious link scanner

The AI agent is intelligent enough to know which tools to use, to perform the necessary research in order to respond to your submissions.
