Everyone, please pay attention 👀 and be alert! A new scam has just surfaced. Scammers will wait at the entrance of Supermarkets or Shopping Malls. They will pick people over 18 years old. They will give out gifts, such as a bottle of milk or a packet of biscuits and/or a bottle of beverage; all these free of charge. But, you need to scan a Bar Code, have your ID Card and Mobile Phone Number, and then record a nod on video. Thereafter you might receive more gifts such as a Power Bank or a Carton of Milk. They will then use your ID Number + Mobile Phone, and Photo to apply for a loan from Loan Sharks. Later you will find Loan Sharks coming after you for repayment. Please inform your family members and friends and take precautions. Don't be greedy for the free or cheap gifts and land yourself in trouble!
⚠️ This doesn't paint the full picture. The message warns of a scam involving free gifts in exchange for personal information, allegedly used to apply for loans. However, there is no verified evidence or official reports confirming this specific scam in Singapore. Such messages often circulate to spread fear without concrete details. While it's wise to be cautious with personal information, rely on official sources for accurate scam alerts and report suspicious activities to authorities.
